Yes, but only if I agreed with the specific mission.
I might coincidentally assist and work with police and governments, but I wouldn't work for them.
I would serve people and the common good, not any government or police force.

I would never use my powers for profit.
I might use my powers to make a living, but nothing beyond that.
I would try and leverage my powers to raise as much funding as possible - but not for myself, instead to fight crime and help people.

A villain has threatened to kill your lover at the same time he plans to blow up a school filled with children. You can only reach one location in time. Who do you choose to save?

It's a horrible dilemma, but I save the school.

A serial killer is found guilty of killing dozens of people in grisly fashion, but, through a technicality, he goes free. How do you react?

Take him out. He won't kill again.
Watch him continuously. If he makes the slightest suspicuous move, I'll intervene.
I have to work within our system and abide by judicial decisions.

I would never intentionally kill another person.
I would do everything in my power not to kill, but I recognize that in some situations there might be no other option.
I would only use deadly force for self-defense, and to protect or save others.
Sometimes you really need to take an eye for an eye.
